The Shakies enjoy playing out in public, at community events, farmers markets, festivals, and private events. Since we are a jam session and not a typical band, the following can be expected when we play at an event: almost all instrumental fiddle tunes and waltzes, a variety of changing instrumentation (violin, mandolin, banjo, guitar, bass), and varying headcount of musicians (could be from 3-15). Please contact our events coordinator if you’d like us to play at your event. Many of our members are in gigging bands that play a variety of folk music (old time, Irish, folk songs, gospel, etc) and we would be happy to recommend any of them to be hired for an event as well.
