The Shakys meet at Peoples Church in East Lansing, MI starting at 7:00 p.m on Wednesdays. If the weather is good, we will meet outside, bring your own chairs and drinks.
 
If the weather is not good, we will be meeting in the newly remodeled, air-conditioned social hall in the basement of Peoples Church in East Lansing.
 
The church building closes at 9:30 so if we are meeting indoors, we will have to be out by then. If we are meeting outdoors, then a bathroom in the church will not be available after the building closes.

September 20, 2026 (Sunday) 2:00 pm The Shakys will be playing a fall concert at St. Katherine’s Episcopal Church at 4650 Meridian Rd., Williamston. Please arrive in time to be ready to play at 2:00.

September 25, 2026 (Friday) 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Bath United Methodist Church, 13777 Main St., Bath, MI. Pretty Shaky String Band and Bath Market Minstrel member, John Suppnick, is offering a new old time string band slow jam for beginners in the Lansing area. We will be playing at about 1/2 the speed that is usually played at the Pretty Shaky String Band on Wednesday nights. This jam will include some of the common, simple tunes by ear, breaking the tunes down a phrase at a time. The rest of the jam will be playing tunes you want to play. This will be a good opportunity to learn and play with others at a beginner tempo. Bring sheet music or tab sheets if that works for you. October 2, 2026 (Friday) 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm Old Time Fiddle Tunes Jam at Elderly Instruments hosted by Mike Ross, (held at Elderly Instruments the first Friday of every month.) Come to listen or come to play. You are welcome either way!

October 3, 2026 (Saturday) 11:30 am – 12:45 pm The Shakys will be playing on stage at the Grand Ledge Fall Festival at Jaycee Park in Grand Ledge along the river (525 E. River St. Grand Ledge). Please be ready to play by 11:30 am. We will be getting the previous act off the stage and ourselves on the stage from 11:30 to 11:45 so we can start playing at 11:45 am.

October 15, 2026 (Tuesday) 11:45 am – 1:15 pm The Shakys will be playing at the Hannah Center Banquet Hall for the Prime Time Luncheon. We will play from 12:15 pm to 1:15 pm. A room will be provided for secure instrument and personal item storage starting at 11:15 am in the Prime Time office conference room. Door open for this event at 11:30 am. If you would be interested in having lunch here please call (517) 337-1113 by October 5 and identify yourself as a member of the Pretty Shaky String Band. The cost will be less than $20.

The Shakys meet at Peoples Church in East Lansing, MI starting at 7:00 p.m. If the weather is good, we will meet outside, bring your own chairs and drinks, masks are optional outside. Masks will need to be worn when entering the church building for any reason. This is the church’s current guidance which we need to follow as guests of the church.
 
If the weather is not good, we will meet downstairs in the social hall. If possible please bring your own chairs inside.
 
The church building closes about 9:15 so if we are meeting indoors we will have to be out by then. If we are meeting outdoors, then a bathroom in the church will not be available after the building closes.
