The Shakys meet at Peoples Church in East Lansing, MI starting at 7:00 p.m on Wednesdays. If the weather is good, we will meet outside, bring your own chairs and drinks.
If the weather is not good, we will be meeting in the newly remodeled, air-conditioned social hall in the basement of Peoples Church in East Lansing.
The church building closes at 9:30 so if we are meeting indoors, we will have to be out by then. If we are meeting outdoors, then a bathroom in the church will not be available after the building closes.

October 30, 2026 (Friday) 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm Bath United Methodist Church, 13777 Main St., Bath, MI. Pretty Shaky String Band and Bath Market Minstrel member, John Suppnick, is offering a new old time string band slow jam for beginners in the Lansing area. We will be playing at about 1/2 the speed that is usually played at the Pretty Shaky String Band on Wednesday nights. This jam will include some of the common, simple tunes by ear, breaking the tunes down a phrase at a time. The rest of the jam will be playing tunes you want to play. This will be a good opportunity to learn and play with others at a beginner tempo. Bring sheet music or tab sheets if that works for you. Bring checks made out to the Greater Lansing Food Bank and/or non perishable items to be delivered to the Food Bank. Bring your friends and even your enemies.

The Shakys meet at Peoples Church in East Lansing, MI starting at 7:00 p.m. If the weather is good, we will meet outside, bring your own chairs and drinks, masks are optional outside. Masks will need to be worn when entering the church building for any reason. This is the church’s current guidance which we need to follow as guests of the church.
If the weather is not good, we will meet downstairs in the social hall. If possible please bring your own chairs inside.
The church building closes about 9:15 so if we are meeting indoors we will have to be out by then. If we are meeting outdoors, then a bathroom in the church will not be available after the building closes.
